CTV Feature on Wanted Chosen Planned – Airs Thursday, May 7, 2015

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Dez Melenka and her cameraman, Mike, from CTV. The interview discussed Wanted Chosen Planned and the need for community for bereaved parents. They also filmed me photographing Tara, a bereaved local Mom, for my art project called The Quiet Rebuild – Portraits of Healing. Tara was also able to share her story.

The feature will be promoted this Wednesday night (May 6) and aired on Thursday, May 7 at 6:00pm during the evening news.

Shaw TV Feature on BRAVE NEW NORMAL Documentary – Airs Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 10, 2015

Less than a week ago, BRAVE NEW NORMAL: Five Mothers Break the Silence on Baby Loss was launched here on Wanted Chosen Planned. This is a documentary featuring the honest discussion of five bereaved moms on many topics regarding their losses. It is a must-watch for anyone who has experienced the death of a child and also for those that support bereaved parents.

Click here to watch the intro to the documentary.

Shaw TV interviewed Sara, one of the women from the panel, on her involvement with the documentary. I was playing with our living kids, Sara’s daughter and my children, Hannah and Eden, outside so I am curious to hear what Sara had to say.

The feature will be on channel 10, Shaw TV, from Friday May 8th to Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 10. The feature will run multiple times during those days so if you miss it once, you can catch it another time. I will also be posting both the Shaw TV and CTV features here on WCP next week.

Curious Arts Interview for Mother’s Day

In an interview about my art with a lovely woman, Angelique Rodrigues, who writes for the Work of Arts blog at the University of Alberta, www.WOAblog.com, I was surprised – and pleased – that she had another idea for an article about bereaved Moms for Mother’s Day.  This she will be posting to another of other of the University’s blogs: Curious Arts www.curiousarts.ca. I’ll share the article when it’s live.

Yeggies Nomination & Awards Night – Saturday, May 9, 2015

The category is Best in Family & Parenting, which is challenging since the death of a child is not always a chipper, up-beat topic – especially compared to the other lovely nominees in the category. The other nominees include:
