Yeggies Results and The True Reward

The first weekend of May saw the social networking scene of Edmonton (#yeg) come out to celebrate the Yeggies, the best of new media awards. My very own Wanted Chosen Planned was nominated in the Family and Parenting category. Yay! (Thanks everyone who nominated me!)

On the night of the award ceremony I squeezed my post-3 baby body into a new dress and my husband and I hit the town. Unfortunately my blog was not chosen as the award recipient… and at first this stung a little, as to be expected.

YET…

On the drive home I received an email from a woman who reads my blog. She shared with me how encouraged she felt after discovering Wanted Chosen Planned and reading all the posts as she grapples with life after her own losses.

Then a Facebook message appeared from another woman encouraging me that whether or not I brought home a Yeggie, my blog is making a difference.

This feedback from real women is my true reward.

Despite any awards I could bring home for my writing and message, my ultimate goal with Wanted Chosen Planned is to share my journey and help encourage others who also struggle with the death of a child.

thank you quote by Elizabeth Gilbert Wanted Chosen Planned Alexis Marie Chute

The true reward of this investment of time, love, openness and vulnerability is even just one woman helped, one family strengthened, one heart renewed in the belief that there is hope.

Thank you to everyone who reads my blog. Please keep sending me messages or commenting on my posts. You would never believe the incredible boost you give me when I receive your feedback.

THANK YOU!!!

Love always,

Alexis Marie

Thanks Patti! You’re so sweet. It is nice to hear your words, encouraging – so thank you. I doubt I’ll ever know the impact of my little blog I write all alone as I ponder life/death/life. I guess that’s not the point. Thanks for always reading and commenting!

I love reading your blogs! You are always so open about your outlook on things – no matter how they turn out! Even better is when you can see the “golden” lining in the clouds of disappointment. Good on you girl! You are an inspiration and make a difference in the lives of many of us every day!

Second of all, thank you for encouraging me with this comment in particular. We all need a little pick me up every once and a while. Love to you.
